Max & Christina first met during winter break of their sophomore year of college at Luke’s house in LaGrange.
For those who don’t know Luke, he’s the mutual best friend they both share — and the reason this whole thing even happened. Despite Max enthusiastically introducing Christina to Boom Clap by Charli XCX (I know, shocking!) no sparks flew that night.
Fast forward to summer — and everything changed. During the iconic 2015 Blackhawks run, Christina made the first move while playing flippy in Luke’s backyard, and from that moment, it was officially on. Christina was so head over heels that she tripped on the sidewalk later that night while sprinting to her sister’s car. Graceful, Christina knows.
They took on long distance through their junior and senior years of college. Max at Indiana University (Hoo Hoo Hoo Hoosiers!) and Christina at the University of Arizona (Bear Down!). Every visit felt magical, made even better by the fact that they created amazing relationships with each other’s friends along the way.
After college, Christina and Max spent another year and a half together before pressing pause in 2019, as they each navigated their early adult lives in Chicago. Even during that time apart, the love between them never truly left — and deep down, they both knew what they had was rare. In the summer of 2021, Max reached out. Christina laughed, cried, and considered throwing up — all within seconds. Not long after, they met for dinner, and it felt effortless. Familiar. Right. With more life experience, deeper understanding, and full hearts, they chose each other again — this time with complete certainty.
Since then, they’ve built a life full of adventure and joy, becoming each other’s favorite travel buddy and friend along the way. Whether hiking through national parks, camping along Midwest lakes, relaxing in the sunshine somewhere tropical, discovering a new favorite restaurant, or cozying up on the couch watching TV, their happiest moments have always been the ones spent side by side. Their favorite place has never really been the destination — it’s been wherever they are together.
Now, they’re living their dream life in Hermosa Beach, California, where the sunshine, ocean air, and slower pace feel like the perfect backdrop for this chapter. They couldn’t be happier — and more importantly, they couldn’t be more grateful that life led them back to each other. They’ve always been home to one another and they can’t wait to celebrate forever with all of you!
